Games of War

12.14.2015

They say all is fair in love and war. However, I believe this not to be true. There are certain boundaries that cannot be crossed, no matter the reason, no matter the loss. We are human beings with the only factor in common being that our behavior is random and in that randomness, sometimes, we make decisions we cannot control and become lost in the responsibility of our actions.

When you make a decision to harm others, you make a decision to alter that other person´s freedom. This will forever make you a slave. Slave to carry the burden of injustice and slave to live with knowing you have deprived another from a life, a future, a way of being.

These short words go towards the current situation in Europe of terror and grief. What happened in Paris has no pardon as those who suffered and those who were attacked were none other than the youth. The heart of the people. The roots of a civilization.

Many raise voice to the fact that other incidences have not been claimed so highly, but this is not true. The difference today is that we have been harmed in the depth of our homes, where we were hidden and protected by what we thought was civilization, a system of justice and protection and most importantly an education. We, have been stabbed in the place where we believed to be safe.

No one is safe anymore. Us, as creators must notice this and also raise a voice and take a stand. We, through our work and imagery, create impressions on others. Today, we show our discontent and our pain. Today we also raise a banner saying “no”. Everything is not fair in love and war.

Let our message be heard through art and color.

We will not bow down. Do not be afraid to walk the streets.

We will fight back with our words and our talents.

We present Games of War EXCLUSIVE for CITIZEN MAGAZINE.
